Conference play in NCAA Basketball is upon us. Does your team look tournament worthy? If so, we’ve got a guide to help you catch all the action. With 14 different host cities, a few NCAA Regionals have caught our eye outside of their two day love affair with March Madness.

Most are familiar destinations we’ve touched on before, but nothing quite like thBay Hillis. When we first started Sports Vacations it was due to an overwhelming desire to crunch in as much live action we could pack into a quick getaway. Nothing epitomizes that goal more than March Madness.

Orlando, FL

Opening weekend we won’t blame you if you’d rather be in front of your couch watching six different TV’s, an iPad and laptop all at once. But if you’re feeling adventurous, head south to Orlando. The ‘second’ and ‘third’ rounds take place on Thursday and Saturday. Checkered into each of these sessions of games you can go to Bay Hill and see the late great Arnold Palmer’s PGA TOUR event on Friday and Sunday. How much more perfect could it get?

The Amway Center, home of the Orlando Magic, will play host to numerous games over a period of 5 days. My bold prediction is there will be a 13 seed topping six. It’s almost inevitable. Stick around on Monday for the Magic taking on the youngest team in the NBA, the 76ers. Check out why this weekend in Orlando is a great beginning to the madness.

New York

If your team can make it to the next regional site, pack your bags to the Big Apple. The rounds that eliminate teams from the sweet sixteen to the final four will see another set of games with potential Cinderella’s at the iconic Madison Square Garden.

Friday and Sunday will be your NCAA games, while Thursday the Nets are in Brooklyn and Saturday you can take your pick of NHL games with the Islanders or Devils. Stick around Monday to cap it all off back at the Garden to watch Derrick Rose, Carmelo and the Knicks taking on the Pistons.

Phoenix, AZu of phx

Okay so your team might not be Villanova, Syracuse, or Kentucky, but that doesn’t mean you can’t take a trip to the last and final stop on our madness tour. Phoenix is the end of the Road to the Final Four. Just three games will take place this time, but they’re the biggest and baddest of them all.

What separates this part of the bracket from the rest? The stadium. Yes, no longer are arena’s needed. Per the NCAA rules of exploiting student athletes as much as feasibly possible they’ll rent out University of Phoenix Stadium (seating 63,000+) for the last few games. Yes, admittedly if you attend this game it’s possible you’ll be watching the game Jerry World style. But if your team is there, and you get to witness history, it’s all worth it.

Outside of the basketball we’ve got the most diverse weekends in front of us. Thursday features the Suns and Clippers tipping off at 7PM local time. Friday the Coyotes face off against the Capitals at Gila River Arena. Sunday afternoon my personal favorite game outside of the NCAA tournament is the Diamondbacks hosting opening day! The Giants take on the DBacks in a divisional matchup at Chase Field.

Day Date Event Time (EST) Venue
Thursday 3/30/2017 NBA: Los Angeles Clippers @ Phoenix Suns 10:00 PM Talking Stick Resort Arena
Friday 3/31/2017 NHL: Washington @ Arizona Coyotes 10:00 PM Gila River Arena
Saturday 4/1/2017 Glendale: NCAA Men's Basketball Final Four University of Phoenix Stadium
Sunday 4/2/2017 NBA: Houston Rockets @ Phoenix Suns 9:00 PM Talking Stick Resort Arena
Sunday 4/2/2017 MLB: San Francisco Giants @ Arizona Diamondbacks 4:10PM Chase Field
Monday 4/3/2017 Glendale: NCAA Men's Basketball NCAA Championship University of Phoenix Stadium

We hope your team makes it this far. If not, check off your bucket list anyway with a few new stadiums and cities!
