How To Use

Sports vacation is an information portal. It is here for the sole purpose to provide you with information around your chosen activity and or accommodation. The site is divided into two areas. the first is a selection of maps split by sport which plot information in your chosen area. The second is an online magazine with lots of articles about travel and sports.

To use the sports maps first select your adventure sport category and the page will display a map and you will see two search boxes. The search box in the right column is for locating a region on the map whilst the search box on the map itself searches a given are for local businesses.

Finding a location

You have two choices in how you drill down to a location.

1. Map Controls

All these maps are draggable, you can use your mouse or the directional arrows to pan left, right, up and down to see areas that are hidden offscreen. You can also use the slider to zoom in and zoom out.

2. Search Box

Enter a full address, postcode or city to drill the map down to a smaller more focused area. You must be aware that the map has a USA focus and so if you don't use a country you may get a USA city. To be safe enter the City and country.

Found your location - what then?

Once you have navigated to your chosen location you will see all the little flags that represent relevant businesses, locations or routes registered with Sports Vacations. Just click on each to get information.

When you click on an entry you will see the name, a brief description, contact details including address, telephone and website. You can also request driving instructions.

If you don't see what you want or want to locate other businesses in that neighbourhood by using the search box on the map which lists Google provided information and NOT Sports Vacation entries. Say you want a local a fish and chips shop near your mountain biking route - just enter "fish and chips" in the search box and we will search around the centre of the map – you don't need to enter a location.
